Given that 90% of enrolled students have used the Internet to research higher education institutions, we could assume that a certain percentage among
For the second homework assignment of this class, the goal was to choose any product and type of smart device and put the product through a marketing continuum. This is a routine a person takes throughout the course of their day. So, we had to identify how your product world continuously is marketed at home, during the commute, while at work, during family time or vacations, etc. Unfortunately, during my example, I incorporated the technologies well, but I missed the key marketing aspects due to misunderstanding. However, here is what I came up with for the assignment.
Product: An application monitors your sleep pattern. It senses and measures your movement at night, heart rate, and activities you have done throughout the day to compile data to improve your sleep quality. During the day you use different technologies that sense the activities you perform, at the end of the day it can produce a personalized sleep schedule that would give you the optimal amount of rest. It also gives you a food guide or certain activities you should complete that may help you fall asleep better.
Main message: “Get better sleep and a healthier start to your day in one, two, three seconds. Better rest shows vital signs to better living. You will no longer need any sleeping pills, white noise machines, or any strange methods to help you get the best sleep of your life. Just download our app and to profile your sleep patterns tonight.”
Call-to-action: Get people to download the app and make a quick account so that they can measure their sleep patterns from any device at night.
Home: At home, the Estimate can be placed in rooms throughout the house and senses when you have done an activity in that room, such as going the kitchen to get food from the refrigerator or going to your home office to do work. This sends information to your phone to help you remember what sort of tasks you had completed throughout your day and you can personally record it on your phone. At the end of the day, all your activities can be compiled all together to inform you suggestions on how you should use the app to wind down for the day.
Workout: The estimate may also be connected in the gym you typically go to or your running shoes. This way it knows when you are about to go and it may make suggestions on what types of exercises you should perform to help you sleep better and relax your mind. If it senses you haven’t been keeping up with your routine because you haven’t picked up your shoes in a while, the sensor can send reminders that you should go to get healthier.
Vacation: Often times when we are on vacations we can also still become stressed out or forget to get proper rest. In hotel lobbies, a consumer can receive smartphone messages that are even personalized to get a relaxing weekend.
Commute: While commuting and people are rushing around, the runalyzer measures their heart rate to measure when they have high levels of stress so the app can determine what days a person needs more or less sleep.
Work: There would be sent out emails about local events in which people could learn more in booths about proper dieting plans for better digestion, workout plans, how to utilize the tools better for their own specific needs.
